ȾIX̱EṈ Restoration Project
ȾIX̱EṈ (Cordova Spit) is the sandy spit located at Tsawout First Nation, a unique and diverse shoreline ecosystem rich in traditional medicines.
Earl Claxton Jr and Judith Lyn Arney led the restoration of ȾIX̱EṈ at the request of Tsawout First Nation from 2012-2015, coordinating volunteer days to remove invasive species and propagating native plants at PEPAKEṈ HÁUTW̱.
Today many of the important plants that grew in this important place are thriving again!
